Scholarship entrants must respond to the following:
Essay Assignment: You are ready to open your own chiropractic office. As a straight chiropractor, the 33 Principles of chiropractic will be the purpose behind your practice.
PART I: List the “pros and cons” of utilizing the following three methods of payment as a means to practice based upon your purpose: 1) You will accept 3rd-party payment for the duration of your career. 2) You will accept 3rd-party payment until your student loans are paid, and then transition to a “cash practice”. 3) You will run a “cash practice” for the duration of your career.
PART II: Which payment method do you believe has the easiest 'cons' to overcome, and how would you do it?

Guidelines:
Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a Student FSCO Member prior to the application deadline. Click on the (application link) for on-line secure application at www.straightchiropractic.org or print and mail application to FSCO office.
2. Applicants must have matriculated into a Chiropractic college on or before September 12, 2008
3. Applicants must maintain a Student status at the time of award reception (on or before October 19, 2008).
Criteria
1. All Scholarship entries should be limited to 1000 words total.
2. For judging objectivity, the text of essay may not mention any names, colleges, or geographic locations relative to chiropractic colleges.
3. All scholarship entries should be double-spaced and be in normal font of 10-12 pitch. Include a cover page as described below.
4. Deadline: Scholarship entries must be e-mailed by September 12, 2008.
5. Winners to be announced at the International Research and Philosophy Symposium (IRAPS) sponsored by Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic • Spartanburg, SC • October 17-19, 2008.
6. The essay must be submitted in the following format:

~ Include a cover sheet with name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, school name, and present level of trimester/quarter.
~ Text must be formatted in a WORD document.
~ A confirmation of receipt of the e-mail will be sent to you.
~Please contact the FSCO office if you do not receive confirmation by September 18, 2008.
